I just heard, for the umpteenth time, this annoying commercial telling you to call them if you recently experienced a “bleeding event.”

The other day I heard somebody on the Weather Channel talking about a “rain event.”

Is it just me?  Am I the only one who missed the memo on the new use for the word “event?”  What ever happened to just “bleeding” and “raining?”
