“Tease” by Deatri King-Bey, The Write Brothers Series

I’m delighted to have my friend, multi-talented author and editor, Deatri King-Bey, as a guest blogger, with exciting news about the latest release in her Write Brothers Series– “Tease!”  Take it away, Deatri!**********************************************

“I knew I had put on a few pounds, but nothing prepared me for when I stepped on the scale at the doctor’s office. I’d done biometrics testing at work three months prior to my doctor’s visit that included measuring my weight. No biggy. I could use a few pounds so I stepped on the scale with confidence just as I always did. I had a doctor’s appointment because I thought my head would explode!

I’m serious. I was in so much pain it hurt to breath. Then there was my energy level. I had none. Looking back, I don’t know how I made it through the workday. So back to the scale. When I first saw I’d gained thirty pounds in three months, I said, “That’s a lying scale!” The nurse aid was so sweet. She said something like, “You’ve gained a little since your last visit I see.”  A little? Yeah right. So not only was my head going to explode, so was my body. Great. To make a long story short, I have a thyroid issue.”

Authors often times take elements of their lives and incorporate them into their novels.  In the fourth title of my Write Brothers series, it’s baby brother Tyler’s turn to find true love. He’s the ultimate player, so I decided to make his “one” a heroine who doesn’t fit the traditional romance model. She has a thyroid issue and has gained thirty pounds in a few months. He attracted to her, but she refuses to sleep with him.

I enjoyed writing this novel. Okay, I enjoy writing them all, but there’s something special about this one. Eva and Tyler, the two main characters, are the underdog of both of their families and are tired of living their lives to meet others’ expectations. I hope you give the last book in the Write Brothers series, TEASE, a try.

If you’ve enjoyed the first three titles of the series, from what I’ve heard, you won’t be disappointed in Tease. For those of you who haven’t tried the series, I’ve also released an eBox set of the entire series. Below is information about Tease and the eBox set.

TEASE: After Eva caught her fiancé in bed with her cousin, she swore she’d never be played for the fool again. Now the ultimate bed-hopper—Tyler Write, has set his sights on her and she’s having difficulty resisting him.

Tyler can have any woman except the one he truly wants—Eva Simpson. Smooth lines and sweet talk won’t work with her. To have a chance at Eva’s heart, he’ll have to show her who he really is.

Purchase this eBook from Amazon, Barnes & Noble. The print version will be released in a few weeks.

SONS 4 SALE (Write Brothers Series eBox Set): If Gloria Write hears “There are no good Black men…” one more time, she’ll scream. She has four sons who fit the bill and not one is married.  Desperate times call for desperate action. During the course of four novels, Gloria sets out to ensure her sons marry. The eBox set includes all four Write Brother novels.

Purchase the eBox set for $7.99 or each novel for $2.99 from Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Raynetta, thank you for allowing me to take over your cyberworld. I appreciate it and you.

  1. Lovin’ your tours Deatri. Every stop exposes something new. I like the way your characters are so ‘real’ with true life issues. I had thyroid issues years ago, but it was on the opposite side of the scale.
