Happy 4th of July! Yes, I’m Black—and your point is….?

Chris Rock

Chris Rock said, “If you’re black, you got to look at America a little bit different. You got to look at America like the uncle who paid for you to go to college, but who molested you.”

But then there’s the famous quote my Mama always used to say, “Lord, we ain’t what we want to be; we ain’t what we ought to be; we ain’t what we gonna be, but, thank God, we ain’t what we was.”

We African Americans are deeply rooted in this country by the blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestors.  I would never want to live anywhere else. God bless America!  Happy Fourth of July!
